Scale How Meditations

Scale How Meditations by Charlotte Mason

This beautiful collector’s edition of Charlotte Mason’s 30 meditations on the Gospel of St. John includes a new foreword by Nancy Kelly of Sage Parnassus. In addition to the meditations on St. John, readers will find Mason’s meditations on Simplicity, the New Year, Easter Day, and the Nativity as well as an article by Rev. Northcote titled Teaching Children to Pray. Mason gave these Sunday meditations to students at her teacher training college. They were printed in the Parents’ Review, often from the ‘notes taken by a student’, and have been made available in this updated layout. This special book contains a large fold-out painting of The Sermon of St. John the Baptist by Pieter Bruegel the Elder, 1566, and has hand-stamped custom artwork on the cover.

In Scale How Meditations, as in the Saviour of the World series, we can see Mason’s deep friendship with Jesus that was the basis of her ideas of personhood and her special understanding of children. It is no wonder that her methods of education continue to grow in popularity.

Hardcover, 265 pages, 5-1/4” x 8-1/2” x 1”, Spine and front cover stamping.
