Stanisław Masłowski (1853–1926) was a prolific realist painter from Poland. Although he created oil paintings and decorations, he is best known for his fresh, vivid watercolors that often portrayed natural landscapes and man-made structures found across Europe. Maslowski’s paintings are like a still frame in a living scene. Each building, each garden seems to have life and breath. We hope you enjoy Maslowski’s work as much as we do. John Singer Sargent (1856–1925) is best known for his intriguing portraits of Gilded Age socialites.
